Hey!
This prototype is just the combat part of the game. I want to see if it feels smooth, responsive, and not (too) broken.
Any ideas for improvements or bugs you find would help a lot.

How combat works:

  • You can beat enemies in two ways: bringing their health to zero or bringing their emotion to zero (for now, with the blue potion).

  • Defending against attacks lowers enemy emotion, attacking raises it.

  • Dodge (Z) prevents damage if your timing is good, but gives no extra bonus.

  • Counterattack (X) reduces the damage you take and hits back, but needs more precise timing.

Controls:

  • Z → Dodge

  • X → Counterattack

  • Right Mouse Button → Select cards, targets, and end turn

  • Left Mouse Button → Cancel selected card

About the art:
I’m currently using free assets from Kenney.
Later on, I’ll replace them with my own art. You can check some of it here.

Next updates for the prototype:

  • Enemy interactions (fight each other, hypnotize, flee, etc.)

  • Card layout changes

  • Improved emotion system (enemies get stronger as emotion rises)

Extra:
Enemies can behave in weird ways like fleeing when alone, fighting each other, or hypnotizing others to fight alongside them. So if you have cool ideas for enemy behavior, send them my way!
